Something which may not be immediately apparent (ha) is that I am a great big geek. Seriously. One of my geeky behaviours is gaming. Here’s a list of all the consoles which my fiancĂ© and I own, and the games or accessories which go with them.
Key:
[!] denotes a ‘retro’ game for which we own the original box/packaging.
[J] or [M] indicate that the game belongs specifically either to me, Jennifer, or to my boyfriend, Michael. In the case of older consoles (SNES/GB/GBA) this game has belonged to us since childhood; in the case of newer consoles it was either bought before we merged collections or was a gift for either one of us.
Nintendo GameBoy (1990) & GameBoy Colour 1998
I’ve lumped these two together because they play the same games and I didn’t want to list them all twice. ![]()
Note: I have my own collection of GB games, but I can’t find them at the moment to list!

Super Nintendo Entertainment System (1992)
This console was released in Europe in 1992, two full years after its release in Japan, and pretty much everybody remembers either owning or playing on one. Boyfriend and I both owned one of these and still have our original games, though neither of us have the original console (both were passed to our respective younger brothers.) One of our first joint purchases was a SNES+Games bundle on eBay… Definitely worth it.

Note: There are more… I just don’t know where they are.
Games
- Castlevania [!] [M]
Xbox 360 (2005) & Xbox 360 Elite (2007)
AGAIN, another console which I hadn’t played until moving in with Michael! I’d wanted one for ages but couldn’t quite afford my own. We have since replaced that console with an Xbox 360 Elite and this is our most-played console.

Nintendo Wii (2006)
We sold our console to family members in 2008 and received it back in 2010 when they replaced it due to a minor disc drive fault… Even though it could have been (relatively) cheaply repaired by Nintendo. Their loss was our gain! We almost never use this console, though, and only play rented games on it as we would rather spend our money purchasing Xbox 360 titles instead.
Note: There are absolutely no more of these.
Games
- Wii Sports (yes, that’s seriously it.)
